POST RECOVERY FOLLOW-UP & SUPPORT
Many people think that intervention is the most difficult part of recovery. Once the alcoholic or addict is in treatment, the family often believes recovery is underway - that the end of their ordeal is in sight. Unfortunately, the real problems often begin after your loved one leaves the in-patient setting. Treatment stabilizes the alcoholic/addict and separates the individual from the environment and social dynamics fostering the addition. Once a recovering addict is back in the real world, dealing with the same issues that he or she was using drugs or alcohol to escape from, the challenges begin. We believe it is vital to prepare for post-treatment during the intervention and treatment process. Positive recovery strategies and relapse prevention are integral to long-term sobriety.
